What to know about Women Empowerment!

 What is Women's Empowerment?

For ages, we have been treating Women in a way like they are inferior to us men but they have always proved us wrong by doing miraculous things. Women like Anne Frank, Marie Curie, Queen Elizabeth, Kalpana Chawla, and many more. They have done work in various Fields attaining enormous- appreciation. Here are a few words from them:-

1.) Marie Curie (1867 – 1934)

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”

Polish-born Marie Curie was a pioneering physicist and scientist, who coined the term radioactivity, discovered two new elements (radium and polonium), and developed a portable x-ray machine.

Currie was the first person (not a woman) who has won two separate Noble Prizes, one for physics and another for chemistry, and to this day Curie is the only person, regardless of gender, to receive Noble prizes for two different sciences.

Currie faced near-constant adversity and discrimination throughout her career, as science and physics were such male-dominated fields, but despite this, her research remains relevant and has influenced the world of science to this day.

2.) Indira Gandhi (Leader of India)

Indira Gandhi was the third Prime Minister of India, from 1966 until she died in 1984. A powerful leader, she was one of the most famous Indian women known for her political intransigency and her centralization of power.

In addition to going to war with Pakistan and leading India into the nuclear age, she helped her country overcome chronic food shortages and reliance on imported grains, to finally achieve its goal of food security.

3.) Angela Merkel (Leader of Germany)

Angela Merkel became the first female Chancellor of Germany in 2005, and she still holds this title today. An influential and powerful woman, she is seen as one of the top leaders of the European Union, and many consider her to be the most powerful woman in the world.

Angela Merkel is mostly concerned about domestic and international policies, and energy and sustainability issues. This famous female leader has announced that she would not seek reelection as Chancellor in 2021.

4.) Lakshmibaithe Rani of Jhansi (1828-1858)

was the queen of India’s Jhansi State, and one of the leaders of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, also known as India’s First War of Independence against British rule. Referred to as “the Indian Joan of Arc”, Rani Lakshmibai became a symbol of resistance for leading her army in her first direct confrontations with the occupiers.

5.)Michelle Obama, Former First Lady:-

“For me, this issue has always been personal. See, back when I was a girl growing up in a working-class neighborhood, most of the folks I knew — including my parents — didn’t go to college. But with a lot of hard work — and a lot of financial aid — I had the chance to attend some of the finest universities in the country. And I can tell you that education was everything for me. It opened doors. It gave me the confidence to pursue my ambitions and make my voice heard in the world. For me, education was power.” —

Opinion and Views of Ancient society:-

They all changed the perception of people who thought women are only for doing household chores and not in men's fields. It was Taboo to let women work in office and Men thought that it was against their pride and society will Laugh at them for letting their wives help in earning money. Ancient Society criticized women for being more intelligent or bold than their husbands. But no ropes could bound these women to excel in their fields and they did shock the criticizing society with their wonderful and charming work in their respective fields.

Today's Scenario:-

Now, this century belongs to women they have changed the perception of everyone. They can do whatever they like to do, and no one stands to stop them. Feminism is at its peak, but some still demand equality. We are living in an era where we see women doing all the amazing stuff but do still respect them? it's hard to say they are getting treated equally because in some places of India they still follow Primitive norms. There are Ngo's where they provide knowledge on using sanitary napkins because in some villages women still use dirty clothes which can be harmful and can spread diseases.
